The "Wind-Down the Summer" Playlist

Summer is winding down my friends. I can feel it in the air (well, I'm in Dubai so actually, there is no air). But I did see a huge display of back to school supplies at the mall, so September can't be far off. Check out this playlist we listening to right now (chilled out hiphop and RnB) to wind down the summer months - comment below with thoughts.

Ex-Calling by 6lack

Pronounced "Black", I saw this Atlanta native open for the Weekend earlier this Summer and was thoroughly impressed. His album "Free 6lack" is definitely worth a listen, but this song is on forever repeat.

Bodak Yellow by Cardi B.

If you don' know Cardi B she is blowing up the hiphop scene right now. Formerly on the cast of "Love and Hiphop", Drake even brought her out at his annual OVO fest a few weeks ago as a special guest. Trust me, watch this video - it was filmed in Dubai and is eryythingggg.

Havana by Camilla Cabello Feat. Young Thug

Camilla Cabello is a Cuban-born former member of the girl group Fifth Harmony. She must have made the right move in leaving the band because this song is sexy AF.

Neighbours by J.Cole

Off his album "4 Your Eyez" this song recounts how neighbours in his posh neighbourhood called the police on him on suspicion he was a drug dealer. During his concert in Toronto this  summer J. Cole showed the crowd cctv video footage of SWAT teams raiding his home.

Cold Little Heart by Michael Kiwanuka

Popularized by the hit tv series Big Little Lies, Kiwanuka's voice is crazy special. Raspy and haunting. (Skip to the 1:30 min mark)

Signs by Drake

This song was debut at Louis Vuitton's mens show at Paris Fashion Week earlier this year. A great example of what I like to call "Tropical Drake".

Love by Kendrick Lamar

Best concert of the Summer was Kendrick Lamar's "Damn" tour. And this song is so good you will catch feelings for whoever you are with when listening. Be aware.

Drew Barrymore by SZA

SZA(real name Solana Imani Rowe) is my newest obsession. The St.Louis born singer has been labeled "neo-soul" or "alternative R&B" - decide for yourself.

Done Da Da by Massari

What can I say? He's from Toronto, his name means money in Arabic and I secretly want to be in this video.

Lust for Life by Lana Del Rey Feat. The Weekend

I feel this song didn't get the praise it was due. It really does grow on you.
